The everyday radiology technicians’ tasks

Posted by admin On November - 30 - 2010

Radiographers have many tasks to be performed on a daily basis. When switching to training in a hospital, students or technicians in radiology especially accelerated their entire school day or help in the observation of different procedures. There are also campus courses that are necessary to provide students with the basics for their future profession.

Getting the radiology technician info you will realize that radiology technicians use different types of equipment to create an image. These tests may include CT, MRI and X-rays often. Some also makes use of a contrast liquid that tracks all the anomalies of functioning organs. This is important because it helps to find a health problem and possible abnormalities in the body. Scans created by the device must be sufficiently clear to be evaluated. A radiology technician must be able to identify and interpret the test results. They must have an eye to identify the organs on the scans. Read more…

It is true that education is more and more expensive day by day. It became very difficult for everyone to get a quality education. But rather than thinking about all these it would be preferable if the students begin searching for various grants they can qualify. These federal school grants can really give monetary assistance to them with the help of which they take a step towards achieving their goals. They can search for different types of financial aid and grants that are offered by the federal government for supporting the nation.

Federal grants to schools can be a great support to students if they can qualify for them. Grants awarded by the federal government are such that students will not have to repay them and they can use to cover the costs of their education. With the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA, it is considered if a student is eligible to receive federal grants to schools. Read more…

A Niche Market Can Be Your Train to Success

Posted by Dale R On November - 28 - 2010

Talking to my fitness trainer the other day reminded me of niche markets and how they’re central to so many small business’s success.

She is a multiple business owner currently who runs a successful restaurant and coffee shop in addition to her work as a fitness instructor and we were chatting about how she got started. Turns out her first small business involved measuring hot tubs and supplying hot tub covers – because no one else locally would come out to people’s houses and do that.

And that’s the key to finding a niche market that will provide the basis of a successful small business for you – finding and filling an unmet need.

We have noticed two types of ads being used by The Oregonian and the Seattle Times that gaining expansive use.

Seattle Times:

During the election the Seattle Times used post-it note ads where the ad is a pealable sticker pasted on the front page of the newspaper.  In this case, the sticker is a miniature fold-out brochure.

The Oregonian:The Oregonian has widely used full page ads that cover half of the front page of the newspaper.    This type of ad which layers over the news is the most coveted newspaper ad spot in the state as any newspaper reader cannot help but see the ad.    Now we notice that The Oregonian is increasingly  using the same full page cover ad to cover sub-sections of the newspaper.   Below you can see how the holiday sales ad covers half of the front page of the How We Live section.     Advertising is taking up more space in the newspaper as a innovative way to boost spending in light of decreasing print subscription sales.

R&D investment by UK’s top firms drops only 0.6%

Posted by Tamara Littlejohn On November - 27 - 2010

NEW analysis from the UK’s Government department for Business Innovation and Skills reveals that the research and development spend of the UK’s leading 1000 companies has fallen but at a less accelerated rate than many of the competitor economies,

Despite the full impact of the recession last year the R&D Scoreboard shows that the amount invested in developing new products and services (£25.3bn) was only 0.6% lower than in 2008.

The UK figures compare favourable with investment by top companies in the US which was down 5%, France down 4%, Germany down 3% and Sweden down 8%.

The overall decline, which could be attributed to the global economic downturn, was largely owing to decreased spending by firms in the fixed-line telecommunications, banking and aerospace and defence sectors.

However, R&D spending developed differently across the whole of the economy. Seve

SEATTLE —

Parents buy video baby monitors for a sense of security and reassurance their little one is sound asleep in their crib.  But, it doesn’t take much for a complete stranger to peek in by picking up your signal on their receiver.

With monitor in hand, we hit the streets of Seattle and within five minutes started picking up other baby monitors’ signals.  The first camera we picked up showed an empty crib, but we could hear voices in the background.

We knocked on the door and inside met the Fleming family.  Two year-old Alex was busy decorating the Christmas tree.  Mom Catherine told us her nanny recently had a monitor mix-up.

“She was looking at who she thought was Alex in the monitor and said ‘Wait a second.  This isn’t Alex, this is another baby.’  I couldn’t believe it,” says Catherine.

The problem is these video monitors run on open and unlicensed radio frequencies which are easily intercepted by other analog receivers.  Now Catherine wonders who else could be watching her baby.

“That’s creepy.  There could be someone with not the best of intentions doing that and who knows.  There are enough strange people it could be used for the wrong purpose,” says Catherine.

A few blocks over we saw a little guy waking up from his afternoon nap in his crib.   Michael Tomczyk told us he had no idea this could happen.  He worries burglars could also use this to their advantage.

To avoid this issue all together, you can buy a baby monitor that hooks into your home computer’s wireless network or buy one that runs on a digital signal.  Parents want the manufacturers of analog monitors to make them more secure.

“I wanted to bring this to their attention that this is something that is not acceptable.  It concerns me that someone can so easily look into my baby’s crib,” says Catherine.
